The cabin was the perfect getaway from Chicago - not too long of a drive, but just far enough to know that you are really getting away from the city (as if the rolling hills, beautiful landscape and passing deer weren't enough of a clue!). The cabin itself is brand new and beautiful - incredible sunlight, great amenities and such a peaceful location. My wife and I had a fantastic weekend just enjoying the long walks, soaking in the hot tub and whirlpool bath, and firing up the grill - we never even left the property. And our dog had basically the the best time of his life - running free and exploring everything in sight! Thanks Jim and Laura for a perfect weekend!
Loved the cabinGuest: Ald (Janesville, WI) Date of Stay: March 27, 2010 Review Submitted: April 12, 2010
Many thanks to Laura and Jim, we had a great time and our only regret is that it was only one night. There was 5 of us and we had plenty of room. The cabin was great and very clean and well kept. We will be back and hopefully be able to stay longer. Would recommend this to anyone who is looking to get away from the busy city and enjoy nature at it's best. At dusk we seen about 9 deer in the field next to the cabin. Thanks again Laura and Jim.
The Perfect PlaceGuest: Leeza (Santa Barbara, CA) Date of Stay: March 17, 2010 Review Submitted: March 26, 2010
My husband and I were in town for a funeral and were able to stay at the Lorelei for a few days. It was just what we needed to get us through a difficult time. The hot tub and the whirlpool tub soothed our bodies, and the quiet and peaceful location soothed our souls. The cabin is beautifully decorated and the lay-out is roomy. We are already planning to return in warmer weather to take advantage of the patios and decks and barbecue, plus the hiking and golf cart trails. A fabulous setting. It is hard to believe that a place like this exists after coming from busy southern California. The owners are great and the 3-dog welcoming committee was precious!
Perfect Weekend Getaway!Guest: hilda414 (Washington, IA) Date of Stay: March 5, 2010 Review Submitted: April 21, 2010
My family and I stayed at the cabin for a weekend in March. It was perfect for a family of 9. The cabin was stocked with anything you could ever need. It was very clean and the decor is beautiful. The hot tub was the perfect ending to our busy days. It truly was a home away from home!

My wife and I were in town on business and heard about this place through friends who had stayed here. They were right- the Lorelei is just fantastic. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and we loved eating at the Star Brewery down on the river per their recommendation. We are planning a family reunion in the fall and look forward to seeing the colors. What a sanctuary, we feel like we have stayed at a spa for 3 days! A nice change from Chi-town!

The cabin was beautiful and the trails were amazing. We have never seen stars so clearly as we did here. We can't wait to come back.

We loved spending our 10th year anniversery in your cabin. Watched thesatrs from the hottub and the ducks in the pond. We are already talking about when we can bring our kids back to enjoy it with us. Thank you.
